"Gifts Galore"
All the gifts I received have been pictured. There is a black box hidden. Any guess what is inside? Hee. I like that gift very much. It was given by someone special to me, whom paid attention to what I was looking for. I never expected it. Met Jo last night and she amazed me. This Xmas is sweeter than never before.

"Give n Share" Mood
Festive celebrations at lunch time. Everyone gathered in the Journey room for a food feast. Lots of great food, sparkling juices and lots of jokes to bring everyone's working mood down to zero. Lol. Our internship student was the organising chair person. Many thanks to her for planning the things, as everyone was busy with our own work.
By end of the day, I had a bag filled with gifts from colleagues to bring back. Too excited to see what is inside the wrappers, but still have to wait till I reach home. I never enjoyed Xmas before and hopefully this will serve as a precedent in future.

A Birthday Wish
In 2 hours time, it will be my pal's birthday. Hope you have a memorable one, which I did 3 months ago. The year is ending soon, but the fun will not cease. |

Xmas Anxiety
Rebec had finished her operation and I am trying to arrange my schedule to pay her a visit. I pray for her fast recovery. I hope to see her chubby self before xmas. How do I spend this xmas? No date to expect, but I dont wish to let it fly pass. Only once a year. Who shall I spend it with?

Will History Repeat itself?
Yesterday was the end of the entire sitting. In the midst of preparation, 6 bottles of bird nests with 1 week of intense revision would be sufficient to get me through in my opinion. At each of the exam dates, there were empty seats around me. Some had chosen to forgo their slimmest chance of securing a marginal pass. I wont even consider about giving up till I make an attempt. Overall assessment of my own performance was less than satisfactory. I concluded that there was a higher chance of passing the retake paper than the other paper. Nonetheless, there were plenty of well wishes from friends whom I appreciated alot.
Went for a stroll in West Mall before I came home last night. A relief that my study aspect has ended for this year. A big challenge in office requiring my attention next week. Year end approaching to finalise the company's full year performance, which is corelated to my bonus distribution.

Are Accountants that Bad?
Took a slow walk to Cathay Cineleisure after the meal. She was surprised to know that Cathay sells tickets at a lower price than other cinema organisations. Perhaps she gets treats mostly to justify her ignorance. Hehe. The movie was my treat, as the food was paid by her earlier. It was a lengthy movie with several exciting scenes and a sequel to look forward to. The only thing I dislike was picking an accountant to be the bad guy. Even the Bond girl, who was also an accountant, betrayed Bond near the end. I hope the sequel comes fast. A drink at KFC sums up the nice evening with her.

Rats Can Be Amusing
Dinner was at Jack's Place. Steak for her and I ordered half spring chicken. She was a fast eater , but I took my own sweet time. It was the chat with her that I enjoyed, more than wat I was eating. Lol. She was playing with the bunny and hugging it. An indication that she likes it. :P
After a heavy dinner, there was some time to kill. We went for "Flushed Away" at Suntec EW. I was treated to the movie, as she suggested. We had a good laugh seeing the comedy concerning rats. Goodbye time after the show ended.

Little Thoughts Mean So Much
The show was not highly rated. It's about 2 girls who lived a luxurious life, but turned poor overnight. They sensed there was a conspiracy to make them bankrupt. So, they took matters into their own hands and recovered their property in the end. After the show, my dislike for rich girls became more justified.
We had lunch at Ajisen. Both of us ordered a set meal each and shared the side dishes bundled with the set. Her taste for ramen was hot n spicy, in contrast to my light n soupy. We tried a sample of each other's ramen. I needed lots of water to contain the spice after trying hers. It was time to report to camp. She offered to accompany me to my destination, although her way home was the opposite direction.

Little Jo
We went into the theatre for the show "The Prestige". It was recommended by my fren. A decent show about the intense rivalry between 2 magicians, who used to be apprentices together. While trying to out perform each other, one of them actually incorporated science into his performance. It was scary to discover that the tesla machine would create a duplicate of him each time he used it. The other magician didnt enjoy a good ending either. He sacrificed his twin brother in the process.
After the show, we thought it was late and should not be consuming too much food. As we were having some dim sum, we provided each other with some insights of our own lives. Within myself, I felt I would be meeting her soon.

Wonderful Batam Experience
I just got home from Harbour Front Centre. As I have written, I was on an overnight trip to Batam. We had to thank Ria, my colleague for seeing to all the arrangments. Although it was only a short trip, we had sufficient good food and proper shopping. What happen in the last 24 hours?
We took a Penguin Ferry from Harbour Front, which took about an hour to reach Batam Center. The rocky ferry feeling made 2 colleagues felt nauseous, but it didnt spoilt their appetite for seafood. The GM at our Batam industrial park had chartered a driver cum van to bring us around. Our next destination was a seafood restaurant located at a kelong. Such a pity that it was too dark to see anything out in the sea. Knowing malay is helpful if anyone wish to visit Batam in future. Fortunately, Ria was around to order the food for us. There were too much food for everyone, which left me with the plate of chilly crabs to finish alone. The final bill was about 1 million rupiah, way cheaper than dining in SG. We were driven to our 4-star hotel, Island Garden Hotel, to rest for the night. Some colleagues wanted to play cards. However, they discovered I was already in dreamland before they even started. Hehe.
Early this morning, we were having a nice breakfast at the hotel restaurant. After a short rest, we went to the nearby massage parlour within walking distance. I had the Traditional Thai massage costing Rp73,000. The masseuse did a decent job making me feel revitalised and got my tip of Rp50,000. It was her lucky day. Following that, we were brought to 3 shopping centres consecutively to make our purchases. My best buy was a jersey. As recommended by VP, I paid Rp45,000 for a facial plus mask. Time flew by and we are on the way back to SG via the same ferry service.

Batam Excursion
- head for Batam directly after work on friday evening
- enjoy fresh seafood dinner (Dunno if I can take lots of seafood)
- spend the night at a good hotel
- go for cream bath n massage the next morning
- do some shopping before we head back to SG
Some of us were keen to participate, as she could serve as a guide to us. However, there was one issue on accomodation. Cat agreed to be in the same room with me, as I am the only guy around. VP asked why she wasnt afraid to be with me alone. I thought it was ridiculous. Do I look like a sex maniac? To avoid further gossip, I chose to be alone. Before we knocked off from work, she managed to get her brother to join us and share the room with me.

Inter Gift Exchange
A while later, I met up with her outside Kuishin Bo Jap Restaurant. It was sad to see her carry her notebook all the way here from her campus. This meal was on dutch, since it was an inter-celebration. Some sushi as appetitzers kicked start our buffet dinner. She was a bigger eater than me, but I had my flu to thank for reducing my appetite. Fortunately, it didnt affect the enjoyable conversation we had. She was more chatty with me than the previous meetings, which was a good sight.
Once we were finished with the food, she wanted to shop for her clothes. I offered to carry her notebook for her to shop better. She was overjoyed to see Iora having a big sale. Most ladies would go crazy for sale, and she was no exception. As I stood there waiting, she went to try on the clothes and bought a few. We took the same train route back, but were separated at an interchange. She had to return to hostel to rest for class tomorrow.

Money In < Money Out
I joined the queue, with about 20 people in front of me. Most people didnt sort out the denominations and disputed the error counts from the machines. I thought it was absurd. Singapore Mint should have thrown out those people who dont follow rules, or at least make them count on the spot. My transaction got through smoothly and I could tallied every count of the different denominations with my precount numbers. Those bulky coins made me richer by $100+ in notes.
A sudden thought of new office wear came to my mind. I made a trip to Metro, which I like to patronise for office clothings. I made a purchase of 2 formal long sleeves and 1 casual one, totalling near $200. Within a few hours, my cash outflow has surpassed my inflow. There was a saying, "Something Comes Something Goes".

3Ts in One Night
I gave her a call as I approached the meeting place. She was waving to me from a distance, even though it was the 1st time she met me. Although this place was near her residence, she was in smart casual. Her efforts to lay a good first impression has paid off. I propose to her to have dinner at Thai Express. She indicated her interest to try some spicy food.
As we were dining, I got to know more about her personal self. She was a chinese national, but awarded PR status. Coincidentally, my forefather was from Fujian Province, where she is from. Her current occupation is a noble one. Unfortunately, her roommate forgot to bring the house key and requested her to go back early. It was a short meeting, but this laid the path for subsequent ones.

Dining in New York
She arrived early, as i waited outside the restaurant "New York" inside CityLink. It was a new concept worth trying, although they serve common western food. To my surprise, she never ask her best fren along. A silly question popped out of my mouth to ask why she didnt ask her along. There was no intention in asking that. We ordered about 3 dishes to satisfy our hunger, which we couldnt even finish. Tummy filled and I gave her a treat this time. She agreed to treat me the next time round.
I had to buy a gift for a friend, whose birthday is approaching. She agreed to come along to advise on the gift. She has good taste, concluding from her dress sense. It didnt take long before we decided on one. She offered to do the quality check on the product before I made payment. From this point onwards, I am certain that our friendship was still intact.

Self Assessment
To name a few issues such as:
- relationships
I have witnessed a few relationship breakups around me. Does it mean that a relationship is hard to sustain? I am a victim of an unsustainable relationship too. Not giving up hope, but I shall shelve any plan to source a potential.
- studies
A bad patch hit me and disrupted my progress in pursuant of a degree. The first paper, which I failed in my entire study life, wasnt a nice thing to experience. I felt I can do better, so I shall commit more time to my studies from now on.
- career
I have been considering a career change from accounting to tax. Not contemplating a job switch, but just a change in job scope. There was no commitment required. My boss just wanted me to do something of my own interests.
- family commitments
In the next 2 years, my dad would be approaching retirement. How can I provide more for my parents' old age? I am always trying to contribute as much as I can. If my studies are completed, my contribution can be increased with the funds available. If I really meet my ideal girl, would I be able to fund my own wedding expenses? I need to work this out.

More Birthday Wishes
Another surprise received from an unexpected source, Miss W. Caught me off guard when she sms me in the noon asking if my day was alright. Haha. Thanks to her special gift, the disappointment I was expecting for the day didnt affect me much. Manager commented that she never encounter a guy as lucky as me to receive 2 separate flower items.
My colleagues brought forward our dinner appointment, realising that I didnt look happy on the day before my birthday. All of them cancelled theirs to have a Japanese western dinner with me at Bugis. All these little thoughts meant so much to me. I thought it was their treat, but they walked off when it was time to foot the bill. I decided to make them happy for their little sacrifice. Hehe. We went on to have coffee at TCC. Suddenly, 2 of them said they need to go to the ladies. I guessed something was amiss. Smsed them not to wander elsewhere other than the ladies. Haha. Shortly, they came back with a big bag. It's my birthday gift and they got the back cushion which I am missing in office. Looking at how cute it was, I decided to leave it at my bedside.

The Day specially for R
The timing was exactly 6.30pm. Most of them were punctual, except for some who got delayed by their own commitments. I requested for those present to wait a while more, so that everyone could have their meals at the same time. Fortunately, the food was served at the appropriate time. It was my treat to let everyone had a good time interacting with each other. As a host, I probably could have done a better job. The introduction part was a bit messed up, as the table was lined up in twos. Overall, I thought the guests were enjoying themselves. The bill was the most expensive budget that I ever catered for an event, but the planning was worth it.
It was a wonderful evening that I never dream of celebrating my birthday before. Used to prefer celebrating with ling previously. But, this year she was not around. Maybe, she would never celebrate for me again. But, thanks to my frens, I managed to see the bright side after the dark clouds are cleared.

An Unforgettable Surprise
It was another friday, browsing through my work documents and cracking my head to solve difficult issues. Lunch time was approaching. I was looking forward to my birthday gathering for the group. The feeling was a mix of 1/2 anxiety n 1/2 nervousness. My phone rang. The front desk lady called and told me to pick up a parcel. I wasnt expecting any and went to have a look. As I was approaching, there was a pretty flower basket on her work desk. Out of curiosity, I requested to have a closer look at the name on the card. I couldnt believe my own eyes. The 3 ladies on site was teasing me about having a secret admirer. It was truly a secret, which I wished to know more. Brought it back to my own desk and colleagues came running towards me. They couldnt believe that a guy would receive flowers too. I would be the first in history. I took some pictures to keep as a remembrance, as the flowers were still fresh. Many thanks to the senders, who made this unforgettable for me.

Personal time with sis
She wanted to try Mushroom Pot and the branch at Orchard Point was fine with her. My job was to fulfil her dream. She was in a skirt this time, surprisingly but sweet. I selected the combo meals and she had the privilege of picking the dishes. A nice meal for both, but it was the least I could do for her birthday. When I was attached previously, I missed many chances of celebrating for her. Promised her something to come on her actual birthday. Learnt from her that a guy is interested in her. My sis is not easy to woo, so this guy has to work harder. We discussed abt a possible overseas trip next year. I mentioned about my birthday appointment with some friends on saturday. Her mischevious self hinted to me to invite her as well. No reason to reject her, as she could interact with people easily.
I ordered mango pudding for her dessert. A funny thing that she asked me if I wished to try, but she ate everything. It was irresistable after all. Haha. I shared my coffee ice cream with her. As a bro, seeing her happy is my joy as well. She bought me a belt for my present, while i treat her to this meal. Waited with her for her cab, thereafter i went to take a bus ride home.

Small Things are not always cute
There was ample time for a quick dinner. We checked into Yuki Yaki Jap restaurant, W's recommendation. Bento set for me, while she had a spicy noodle dish. My serving looked small, but finishing it proved otherwise. Time was up to proceed to the movie theatre, but the usher delayed our entrance. Surprisingly, the movie had started as we made our way to our seats. Another lesson learnt was dont trust movie time timings on weekdays. Laughter filled the theatre for majority of the show. If the rating was low, I think the raters have to improve on their rating abilities. Overall, I felt the little man was a nasty person with a soft heart. Hehe. As the show ended, we decided to proceed home to rest early. Along the journey home, I wondered how many times I shall have to come orchard area for this whole week. Do count for me ya?

Operation R
We met each other at 6pm, just the right time to have our dinner. Rebec has asked her friend to join us, but she would be late. The ambience was nice when we were enjoying our dinner. Past 7, the crowd started to fill the seats. Soon, it turned out to be like a night market. But, the menu had many selections. I am considering if red wine is necessary. Surprisingly, I havent drink that yet. It all depends on the guests' choices.
As we footed the bill, I spoke to Keith, the manager to make the reservation. He will see to the arrangements and I shall confirm the attendance as the date gets closer. Looking forward to the big day.

No Femme Fatale
I caught up with the guys, who were at the restaurant, busy eating. They addressed me as the Boss, since I look like one in my working wear. I cant deny the fact that they are all big eaters. They have finished one plate of big prawns and crabs each. My appetitzer was mushroom cream based soup. Kicked off the main courses with all the fried japanese stuff. Had one chicken jap steamboat. Followed by mini sushis and my favourite squids!!! We were avoiding anything pork, as Leong is converting to muslim for his gf. We didnt want him to feel tempted. My final taste was the ice cream, jellies and pastries. A sumptous buffet I had, which I would recommend friends to try it at least once.
We discussed alot of funny situations that any of us witnessed while in camp. Such laughable topics. A lady and 2 guys were sitting beside our table. She was wearing a low-cut spaghetti, so we all thought the 2 guys must be drooling. Too bad they can only see, but no touch. Haha. Leong was tired and he wanted to go back to rest. We went separate ways, but I told them that we dont have to wait for reservist to have a meal. Maybe, I shall gather them again.

Being Stacked Upon
Jokes aside. I had to clear that pile of documents as fast as possible. I started with those that was meant for filing. The challenge was to catch up my work in the shortest time, and proved that my work was only slightly affected. I am in the midst of preparing Budget 2007 for the company and some presentation slides. During my absence, there were changes in the assumptions and a revision of the Budget was required. Some reporting work was submitted to Cat, as I assured her that I could clear it in the morning. Due to our work being closely related, it was a relief to her for me to be around. She hoped I won't fall sick due to stress and extend my absence. :P
By end of the day, I had normalised my working pace. Supposed to finish the presentation slides for a meeting tomorrow, but I chucked it aside. Went Jurong Point GV to see "The Devil Wears Prada" with Pat. This was the first time to see her in specs since we know each other. She would fit better as a 才女 with this appearance. Hope she is not reading this. The show did provided an insight to my life, that a career is not as important as family and friends. Pursuing a career without support from family and friends is not a situation I want to be in. She was in a rush to head back to hostel after the show. I couldnt pursuade her to let me cover the ticket costs, but I shall treat her the next time. It was a nice gesture for her to reject her friends to catch this one with me.

Strangers No More
We arranged to catch a show together, but seems none was interesting. They were delayed and I walked the entire Plaza Sing at least 2 times before they smsed me on their arrival. Saw them walking towards my direction and didnt know F was fun loving. Haha. Her fren, M, was friendly too. We had a heavy lunch at Cafe Cartel, as agreed among ourselves. We learnt more about each other's lifestyles and shared some career thoughts. F has a plan to further her studies, which I hope she succeeds in.
A short period of time spent for a meal but fruitful. They had other appointments to rush to, while I took a bus ride home. Sent her a Thank You sms, telling her that it was a good start to bypass the boundary of strangers. Well, a good ending has its bad side as well. My best fren wasn't having a good day, but I am unable to provide her with any comfort whatsoever. Does it show that I am a lousy friend? I know she didnt want me to be affected by her. Friends are around to show care n concern when there is a need. That is what true friendship represents.....

Significant COC Parade
I changed into my parade uniform and brought my wife to the parade square. The army uniform has changed over the period of time. Now, we have our vocation batch on our collar, formation batch on the right shoulder and singapore batch on our left chest. Most guys wont like to put on the uniform. However, a sense of pride develops in me whenever I dawn the beryl green colours.
For hours, we rehearsed many times to get things right. My legs still aching from yesterday's running test, were feeling the effects of long hours of standing. The consolation was a cooling weather to hover over the parade square. The hard work paid off eventually, as the incoming commander praised us for giving him a warm welcome. He will be leading us for the next 3 years. Although it has been a long day, compliments from the commander was the most encouraging for many.

Reporting to Serve My Nation
With this strong belief, I reported to Yishun Camp at 7am. The in-processing progressed smoothly and there were missing personnel who failed to report for duty. The first day was catered for admin matters. That meant lots of waiting due to the big group. The battalion has roughly 400 personnels. It's pleasant to see the common faces of my army buddies. We make it a point to attend each ICT without fail, so that we share the good n tough times together. I forgot to mention that I am a signaller by vocation. So, communication via radio or line is my bread n butter. Of course, if the equipment fails, there is always smsing thru the mobile. Haha.
Was briefed on the training programme for the next 3 days and our key objectives. We went to our assigned bunks to unpack our stuff. My army buddies picked me as the bunk IC, whom they felt was most suitable. My first task was to ensure everyone has a pillow case, bedsheet and blanket. In the evening, everyone was allowed to book out. But, I chose to stay behind with two friends. The time n cost to travel defeated the purpose of going home to sleep in my own comfy bed. We did a slight catching up and everyone had an early rest.

Last day in office before NS
I reached office earlier than usual, knowing that today is the last day for me to clear my work before I serve my National Service liability for the entire next week. I am prepared to stay late to clear it by hook or by crook. My friends describe me as a nice guy who always think of others. I could foresee my colleague being stressed up in my absence. I cant bear to see others suffer for my doings. My CFO had an adhoc assignment for me to rush for him and I attended to it immediately. Speaking about work efficiency, he told me to relax next time I am given an assignment. Haha.
Went for lunch with colleagues and we popped by this bakery shop selling muffins. Very interesting stuff that they sold. Took some snapshots of their creative products. I got their namecard just in case. Bought some muffins of different flavours to try. I like their black pepper chicken pie very much. It makes me feel awake at work, with its strong pepper content.
Not knowing that its time to knock off, all my colleagues left the office on the dot. I was left all alone to slave. Hmm. But, the quiet environment made me more focused and worked better at optimal level. When everything was done, it's 11 pm. At least I managed to achieve my objective set out. Smsed my colleague that I have settled most of the things and she was shocked by my work commitment. Exhausted but fulfilling after a long day. Hope everything is fine when I am away.

Breaking Up is always a hard thing to swallow
Sad things casted aside. I arranged with a fren to watch "The Breakup" together. Note that she is still single, so I can ask her along. Haha. I wont bother asking someone attached to know more about breaking up. It may make their lives worse. It was the first time I went to Bishan Junction 8 to see a show and bought nachos from Golden Village. Not too bad, compared to Eng Wah's nachos. But, Cathay should improve on their quality, especially the cheese. The ticket usher forgot to update the display panel to alert the audience to enter the theatre. We highlighted to them that the show is starting in 2 mins time. Haha.
The show was filled with laughter and sad moments. Maybe, u can catch it to know where the funny parts are. :P Well, the saddest part was to learn that the house shared by the couple had a buyer. That made them think through why they had fought with each other all the while. The lady wanted to make a last reconcilition attempt, by inviting the guy to join her for a concert. Fate was cruel to her. The guy didnt turned up and she broke down into tears. I could feel her emotions, as I went through that phase in life before. She had sacrificed alot for the relationship, but the other person was not appreciative. A good ending was their friendship was intact a few years after they broke up.
Had coffee at Cafe Cartel following the end of the show. We shared more things of our life and the friendship is developing well. I would advise her to stay cheerful and take things easy.

Casual Meet with Army Mates
Settled down at Crystal Jade 小龙包 restaurant. We ordered a feast. A main course for everyone and shared about 5 dishes of dim sum. My Wanton soup noodles have 6 big Wantons. Never took so many at one go.
Felt like avoiding Wantons for a month after this meal.
After our sumptous feast, I asked the guys to accompany me to shop for presents for my colleagues. Well, it didnt take long before I set my eyes on the ideal gifts. Bought a Pooh bear touch light and Tigger MP3 speakers. One of them likes Pooh, the other likes listening to music. Planning to present to them next tuesday during our dinner.
We headed to West Coast Recreation Center for some pool and billard sessions. Havent been playing and I hitted more white balls than coloured ones in the holes. Haha. It was a cheap game, as we paid ten bucks for about 3 hours of games.

TGIF - 金龙船 n KTV
Just as we were searching for the place in the big mall, call of nature came and I got to head to the Gents to negotiate a deal. Negotiation was smoother than I expected. Hehe. The restaurant was located where we came from initially. The management should do a better job to provide direction signs, since they have expanded. We had the deluxe meal as shown in the pamphlet, plus some dim sum. The manager was tactful to replace my tea with warm water, having heard that I am not having a good tummy. Felt like calling her "Mum". Haha. Plenty of jokes and sharing topics about our own experiences, as we tucked in the dishes served. Midway, the fireworks were displayed but we didnt catch much of it.
After dinner, singing at Kbox continued. I had to go for another round of negotiation before I could settle down to start singing. As requested, I sang more than previous sessions. My voice is more suitable for english songs. Song after song we sang and crazed, until 3 am in the morning. It was my first to hang out till this time. Felt tired but fulfiling.

Happy 41st Birthday to My Nation
Pat was willing to catch the movie "Fast & Furious 2" with me. Haha. It was not easy to ask her out by the way. Her schedule was packed by her NIE training. I went to causeway point earlier to collect the tickets in advance. The theatre has shifted its location and I was unaware of that. Got to depend on the direction signs. She arrived just in time to enter the theatre. The show kicked off with very loud music. Many intense driving scenes and drivers performing drifts. I can only admire, as I cant perform those in real driving. But, I do play videogames and do those stunts.
After that, Pat suggested to go clementi Kbox for a singing session. She wanted to practise her vocal for a singing competition. It was a good opportunity to train my vocal too. I never sang so many songs in a 3 hr session before. She wanted me to try singing without stressing my throat. It's a hard technique to master though. Had a great time spent with Pat and I hope she felt the same way as well.

Promotion Treat
The dishes were served one after another and the thai waitresses were providing good services. As we were feasting, Cat was unlucky to have a stomach upset. I am her lucky star, as I got the medicine to cure it. It's my habit to carry some medicine with me. She felt better after consuming one tablet. Shortly after, we headed to Swensen to have Earth-quake ice cream for dessert. Our manager footed all the bills. Congrats to her promotion as our senior manager.

The Sound of Ticking
I showed mummy what a cute thing I have. She asked if it is for someone. Chinese folks believe that we cant 送钟 (equivalent of sending u for the last ride). I guessed her age is catching up on her and she overlooked that before asking. I set the alarm to wake me up after a short nap in the noon. The sound was irritating, but it works great!!!

Use Ur Mind, But Think Less
After dinner, it's game time. They have a huge collection of games to cater to our needs, in exchange for a small fee. We kicked things off with "Taboo". A party word game to lead other players to say the word on ur card. However, there are another 5 words which is the player's taboo. The 2nd game we tried was "You Are An Idiot". The person who picked this card is supposed to act stupid, even if he knows the answer. How about "Jenga" to test our stability?
Last but not least, we took the board game "The Game of Life". A game which makes players go through every part and parcel of life. That's the end of our board gaming.
It was 11.15pm. Time for us to foot the bill, as our gaming hours are due to lapse. We went back home, as the ladies have to be home early. Pat was online and I mentioned about this cafe we went to. She went to another one named "The Settlers". We can try this another time.

Who is desperate?
The tax assistant from EY gave me a ring. to thanked me for my prompt reply for their queries. I mentioned that I would clear it as part of my job. Back to my accounts closing, I managed to do some data entry for last min submitted accounts. Cat was getting stressed up for late submission of accounts. Pity her, but I always try to help her if possible.
It's lunchtime and the weather turned bad all of a sudden. We ordered takeaways to be delivered to us. The delivery man was drenched, making us feel the guilt. We must finish the food for his sake. After a filling lunch, everyone discussed the topic of who is suitable for me in the office??? Haha. I sat there listening, as the ladies provided me with a list of candidates for my consideration. Are they anxious to see me getting hitched? Singlehood has its own merits, but I wont write off seeking a partner. One even asked my manager if she would accept my courtship. The proposal to me was I wont have to strive so much, as she is older than me. A nice try. Jokes aside and we got back to our desks for the serious matters.

Possible to Match Make?
Bought nachos and treated the ladies to drinks. Kim was to share nachos with me, but she only ate 4 pieces in the end. Watched a touching movie and drank coke in substitute of alcohol to drown my sorrows. Haha. Hmm, Wendy also watched the same movie. Did we feel the same for the touching scenes at the end? Sandra Bullock requested Keanu Reeves to wait for 2 years to see her, knowing that he will die if he meets her on that day. If I am Keanu and my ex is Sandra, would I have waited for her? But my real life was not that sweet. She chose to leave and I cant do much about it. *Slap myself*
Courtesy of good concealment, frens never noticed that I had wept during the show. Dinner is next on agenda. I had a sandwich and couldnt even finish it. It must be related to my emotional level. The last of all is having beancurd for dessert. Went separate ways thereafter, and I managed to catch the last bus before midnight. Had someone to accompany me thru sms on the ride home. *Sweet*

Financial Reporting Updates
Identity tags were issued to us upon registration. We picked our seats near the middle section of the hall. Several speakers took their turns to feed us with the various updates.
The order of updates is as follows:
- Amendments in 2006
- Application of FRS 39
- A test for Impairment
- Companies Act and its implications of accounting
- Changes beyond 2006
The dishes served for lunch were reasonable, enough to fill our small appetite. After lunch, the second half continued. Cat was starting to doze off. Hehe. Teased her that it was not a boring talk. The Q&A session ended about 5pm. There was a question, which the lawyer and accountant can't answer and push to one another (No Man's Land). I had to rush for night classes, bidding goodbye to Cat at the train station. Dinner at Delifrance to kill some time before a gruelling 3 hours of performance management.

Pre-arranged meetup
The dining venue switched to a Hongkong concept restaurant inside Cineleisure. Paul and Jason had recommended it. Quite cosy and popular, but the service was below par. We waited for our desserts for some time, before it was served upon our reminder. The 2 ladies were chatty and everyone was chipping in the conversation. As always, I performed my listening role. Thank goodness that I was noticed by Eriko. Haha. The ladies mentioned that they missed singing and we headed for "The One".
Was greatly impressed by their crystal clear voice. Jason was up to his mischief in picking retro songs. I sang a couple of duet, before I called it a day. My voice can be lost easily, if I strain my throat too much. Jason had another appointment to rush, while the 4 of us shared a cab home. I send Audrey, Paul and Eriko home, before the cab goes to my place as the last destination.

A wish that cant be realised
Gave her a choice to pick the food, which she liked to have. Such a coincidence to have Sakae with most of my friends. She was not an exception as well. While filling our tummy with food, she gave me a phone sling to see me attach it instantly. She had the other matching one on her mobile. Hehe. Permitted her to open up the gift and she was surprised to see her favourite brand. We had a nice neo photo together. I had to send her home early. The time spent together was shortlived but of quality.
Reached home and saw her in MSN. I sensed that she was trying her best to instil confidence in me that she is my next one. I can't bear to see a nice girl suffer for me, as I had suffered alot for my first love. I have my ideals to pursue and love is not my priority. My heart is aching again. I requested to resume my position as a good fren and let the relationship be a thing of the past. Bao bei would be blessed with a guy who can fulfil her dreams.

New Class Commenced
Reached the class just in time before the lecturer arrived. No time for my dinner, but was entertained by the lecturer's crap. From past trends, this paper has highest failure rates. But, I find this a challenge and more relevant to my future. If I don't succeed as a financial accountant, maybe I can excel as a management accountant. Hehe. My new job has been giving me many exposures in a range of areas like never before. I should be on track to realise my dream with both work and education development.
Class ended late as expected and I was surprised I didnt doze off in class. Usually, I would hold my pen, heads down and close my eyes. Haha. While on the bus back home, I sat at the last row and a young couple was doing hanky panky. Are they trying to impress that they can do it anywhere?

As lucky as Her?
Jake (CHRIS PINE), on the other hand, is a bad luck magnet. His skies are always raining; his pants are always on the verge of splitting at the seams. His job is cleaning toilets at a bowling alley. But even a steady bombardment of catastrophes doesn't dim Jake's dreams. He thinks he may have his chance at the brass ring with his discovery of a rock band McFly. If Jake can keep his bad luck at bay for just one night, he'll sneak into a masquerade ball and get McFly's CD into the hands of music titan Damon Phillips.
On this night when dreams can be made or broken, fate brings Ashley and Jake together on the dance floor. Instantly taken with one another, they share an electrifyingly kiss and with that one kiss, their luck switches places.
Suddenly, Ashley's dress rips. Her heel breaks. Her good luck seems to have finally run out. Jake, in his rush to catch Phillips before he leaves, ends up saving the record mogul's life and earning with that one simple twist of fate, the chance to make all his dreams come true.
As Ashley desperately races to regain the luck she blithely took for granted, she begins to see that it's not so much having good luck but what you do with it that counts, and that her greatest chance of redemption lies with the guy who holds the key to her sudden change of fate.
Review:
Having seen this movie with a fren, a word of advice is to watch it with ur lover. After all, its a romance movie about sacrifice. The couple had to undergo their fair share of bad luck, before they realised that nothing else really matters. They believed their counterpart needed the luck more than themselves, and the only best consolation to their bad luck was to meet their beloved. I think nowadays the real world is too far from this fairytale. Selfishness, back stabbing, betrayal, etc...... Nonetheless, I still adopt a positive perception of everyone until they really prove me wrong. After the movie, I did sent her home. Does 2 consecutive weeks of meeting do us any good or?? Sooner or later, the bond will strengthen before we even realise it.

A ray of hope
I bought 2 tickets with her consent to catch a movie. Was messaging someone and she tapped my shoulder. I was surprised that she was more friendly in person. We had a quick Mac dinner, as time was running short. So rush that we had to give up our french fries or we would miss the start of the show. While we chatted, I realised she is a university grad than a diploma grad. I got her information wrong from the start. She was wearing halter back specially for meeting me, since her occupation prohibits her from provocative dressing. I appreciate her effort in that, while I was in my usual working attire. Over the duration of the movie, we focused ourselves on the show.
Afterwhich, I offered to see her home in the late hours of the night. Took the bus with her and our conversation continued throughout the journey. The walking distance between her place and bus stop was pitch dark and she dares to walk it every night. A brave girl she is. She allowed me to see her up till her void deck. I guessed she must be feeling awkward towards me. Headed home via cab and she left me a note that I have presented myself well. Was I making a presentation? Haha..

Bugged by Emotions
Channel U was screening 天.....使我爱你 tonight. The drama was a catalyst to my emotions. The female leading actress has moved me with her devotion towards her missing partner. Waiting for her partner for 3 years, hoping for his return. He did returned to fulfil his wish for her happiness through match-making her with a guy.
Made me wonder what can I do for her? I had a wish to do a miniature model for her. Something meaningful and my patience would be put to good use. Will be working on the one shown. I may not present to her when its done. Asking her to accept it may lead to a misunderstanding.

Week Happenings
On thursday, I applied for half day leave to collect some freebies for my Maxonline Upgrade. My colleague was affected as well. While accessing the leave application database, I discovered that 2 days of family care leave was taken out of my leave balance. My pay was also reduced by a medical claim reimbursed to me last month. Most probably, the HR has straightened out their policy to award that upon my job confirmation. One more month to go!!!

Missing Out
For 2 consecutive fridays, I planned to go Marina Square to pick a model kit to work on. Lady Luck has not been with me and I had to forgo hobby for overtime work. Sad thing to happen. A good thing that I wasn't alone with the company of my colleague. She had her own work problems to be troubled about. Its near 2 months since we both joined, but there are still many things to pick up.
Reached home last night to see my dad catching the World cup match (Argentina v Serbia & Montenegro). Sat down with him to see the second half. Based on Argentina's performance, I am certain they can progress quite far in this tournament. To play my part as a supporter, I have placed a small bet on them being the crowned champion.
It came to my mind that I didnt purchase pc games for quite a while. I have zoomed down to 2 choices, namely "Rush for Berlin" and "Heroes 5". My preference would be "Rush for Berlin", as I am fond of playing real time strategy games. "Heroes 5" has a high review rating to contest my decision. Quite a hefty price of 50 dollars to pay for an original game. I need to get my money worth on the right game to purchase.

SAd Thoughts Upset Relaxed DAY
This morning had a emotional breakdown. Some friends have been nice towards me, but I am having a phobia to be a recipient to sweetness. Recalled all the sweetness in her had evolved into a different person. Should I enrol for SDU to know more people? Read from an article that it organises blind dates for singles. Maybe I will be fated to meet that someone. Rented 3 VCDs (Jarhead, Memoirs of Geisha, Everyone has secrets) to relax myself after the week's exam ordeal. Hope my friend is calming himself, while he is working hard on his books. There is still life after his books. So, dun be overstress about it. I am packing my notes up, wishing that I wont need it a second time.

Heavy Workflow
On Wed, I met up with my fren to watch Xmen 3. Had dinner at Siam Kitchen restaurant. We picked a set meal for 3 pax, but was rejected for our order. The reason was the meal was meant for 2 pax. If I had suggested to pay for 3 pax, regardless of only the 2 of us, there would be no reason for him to reject. There was a buffet going on, but the 20 dishes provided were too much for us to handle. I shall try that buffet next time, when I am a great appetite. While I were in the theatre, I recalled that Lingsi will be flying off to HK tonight. She must be pretty sad that I never sms her before she got on the plane. Hope she had a nice business trip, though she was reluctant to go. Tomorrow will be the launch of a series of revision for 4 days.

Inevitable Meeting - Part 2
It was time and saw her walking towards me. I thought she would be putting on her glasses, but she didnt. Instead, her contact lens were on. Saw a different side of her, which she mentioned her eyes were bigger with contact lens on. Dunno about the difference. Brought her to dine at Billy Bombers, since she never tried that before. My initial booking of the movie time slot was on scheduled, as we finished the lunch on time to catch it. Poseidon, another blockbuster, which caught my attention through its advertisements. The huge tide which capsized Poseidon was the most captivating moment. We were both glued to the screen. After the show has ended, she accompanied me to purchase some food for my little Jacky. She was looking at the puppies, while I selected the things I needed. She got some straws for folding stars as well. I was in a rush to meet my family for a dinner outside and she handed me a box of her self-made cookies. Didnt expect that coming from her. Had the feeling of "幸福", which I seldom experienced. I am starting to like her even more. Hope our relationship will blossom in time to come.
